AETM 2003 Annual Conference

The Association of Educational Technology Managers is holding its 3rd annual conference for 2003 in Brisbane on November 3rd, 4th and 5th at the Queensland University of Technology & and The University of Queensland. It promises to be the best yet, with almost all 44 Audio Visual Managers attending from all Universities in Australia and New Zealand at the one place and time.

About the Conference

The idea for sharing the conference between QUT and UQ developed from the creative discussions between Geoffrey Roberts, Associate Director, Teaching and Learning Support Services Department and Kevin Dalton, Audio Visual Services Manager, they are working together to make sure that this years conference is as constructive and informative as possible.

This Years conference will also be a very enjoyable one being in the warm and picturesque locations of the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology, the Brisbane locations offer a warm break from the colder states and another look at the wide and varied range of universities that exist in Australia and New Zealand.

At this Years conference, the AV Managers will discuss topics ranging from E Lectern systems Upgrade from John Brand, Manager, Lecture Theatre Management Unit, and University of Auckland.

Terry Coe, Manager, Audio Visual Unit University of Western Australia, will be presenting on AV Manager Position levels and Pay scales with a view to developing a recognized position description document for AV Managers.
Paramjit Jaswal, Manager, Teaching Spaces Services Group at Melbourne University will be presenting Ranking of teaching spaces.

The AETM will be looking at many new ideas in teaching Technologies and control systems to enrich the learning experience for University students.

The Association gets together to discuss all facets of teaching and learning that are dependant upon multimedia systems, while continuously looking for ways to improve and enhance the audiovisual presentation mediums that enable teaching staff to lecture with these technologies.
